The New Zealand
workshops are hosted by Peter Miller BA, Dip Fin Plan, AFA. During
30+ years as a financial adviser Peter discovered that owners need
professional help to leave their businesses on the best possible
terms at a time of their choosing. He sold his owns consulting
practice, which had 50 associates in New Zealand & Australia several
years ago. Based on his own experience and research, Peter launched
SuccessionPlan New Zealand Limited in 2001.
Exiting a private business can be a very stressful
and unfamiliar process for owners, their family and loyal employees.
It is also inevitable.
At some point every owner leaves his or her business,
voluntarily or otherwise, and wants to receive the maximum amount of
money to accomplish family and personal financial goals.
Sadly, many walk away
from possibly a lifelong commitment with little or nothing to show
for it, or without selling for the potential they have developed.
Many do not have a saleable business at present. Most owners do not
have a written exit strategy or succession plan.
